• What is Interactive karaoke?
This is an exciting new approach to karaoke DVDs, enabling you to choose between six audio mixes. These mixes include the full vocal mix, a karaoke mix, a mix with no drums and an instrumental mix. In addition there are two more audio mixes which will differ between tracks, which could include a no guitar mix, a no keyboard mix, a no bass mix or a mixture of any of the other mixes. The idea is that you can choose the mix that suits you best, and have fun singing or playing along.
There are also three different visual options One is a graphic screen, so if all you want to do is to let the CD play the hits sung by the professional, with a designer graphic playing on your system, then this is the option you choose. Otherwise, you have the choice of a Karaoke Mix with a moving background, or with a Blue screen background.

• Are the discs like those I have used at karaoke events before?
These discs are DVD and will only play in DVD players. If you have previously used CDG, the format will be different but it will not affect in any way the result you see on screen. If you have a CDG player these discs will not play on them.
The disc will play the backing music for you to sing over the top of as with all other formats and on the screen the lyrics will show and change over time to indicate what you should be singing. The difference between these products and others you may have used in the past is that you can choose which mixes you want to play or sing along to.

• Frequently Asked Questions for Starter PackDo I have to purchase a Starter Pack In Order to Be Able to Play the DVDs?
No. The Interactivekaraoke.com DVDs will work on any DVD player without the need for the audio mixer in the Starter Pack. The audio mixer simply adds microphone ports into your home entertainment system to turn it into a karaoke machine. How can I increase the sound output of the microphone?
The sound of the microphone is controlled by your television system. The audio mixer simply interrupts the usual signal between your television and DVD player to allow you to add in microphone ports and has only limited volume control.
In addition to the TV volume controls, you can also link your system through your stereo to improve the quality of the output.
Also, using the echo button improves the standout of the microphone input, as does using the karaoke option when you play the DVD to remove the lead vocal. Why Does My Microphone Only Works When Held Close to the Mouth?
Increasing the distance from the mouth that the microphone can be held in order to pick up the singing voice increases the amount of interference and feedback. An improved sensitivity of microphone without feedback can only be achieved at a much higher specification and cost.Do I need to use a battery in my microphone?
No, the microphone does not need a battery to make it work.
On the first production batch the barrel of the microphone can be unscrewed to reveal a battery compartment with no cables, which is an error by the manufacturer. A battery would not enhance the performance of the microphone and on later batches this has been removed. How do I connect the Audio Mixer to my PS2?
When connecting a Playstation 2, use the special adaptor lead which normally is used to connect the PS2 from a port in the back to the television. The end of this lead has the usual three audio visual points and can go directly into the corresponding ports on the ‘From Player’ part of the audio mixer. The av leads then supplied in the pack can be used to connect the audio mixer to your TV as normal.I can't find the Audio & Angle Buttons on my Remote Control Player, How Do I Change Options?
All DVD players have a facility to switch between different audio and angle
options and if you cannot find these buttons on your remote control, you
should consult your handbook or DVD manufacturer to find out how. Sometimes the controls are hidden under a compartment on the remote control and sometimes you need to programme them in if it is a multifunctional remote, but your hardware manufacturer should be able to answer any of these questions for you.
